ARCHIECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN: LLONGUERAS CLOTET ARCHITECTS

It is a reform of an existing space in Sany Joan de Déu Hospital. However, the unique facade is projected new, provinding natural light in most of the boxes but controlling the size of the openings to guarantee their privacy.

Being a pediatric ICU, the box includes a bed for an adult, since it is proven that the well-being of the child its medical improved. To favor the intimacy of the families, the installation of polarizes glass inside the box has been foreseen, but for economic reasons the have only been installed in a few units. The requirement of this service by the property was to optimize the nurseing services as much as it required an exclusive control of each box but with the minimum of nurses. It is for this reason that the service area occupies the central position while the boxes are surrounding it.

This mentioned disposition favors the optimization of work areas and storage by occupying a central position. It can be shared by different assitance personnel.
